OGR YOU

training

A training programme for young adults aged between 18–21.

OGR YOU is a training programme dedicated to Young Adults: one of the age groups least represented in the programming of Italian cultural institutions. Each edition is coordinated by a different curator and includes a series of meetings and workshops with major national and international guests.

The young participants – from various educational backgrounds and selected with an open call – are involved through non-formal learning methods in reflections and discussions on topics relevant to self-understanding and self-narration.

OGR YOU 2020

NOVA CONVENTION is the theme of the 2020 edition of OGR YOU, an “intensive educational experiment on the complexity of culture” curated by Guido Costa in collaboration with Sergey Kantsedal, designed to stimulate a higher level of knowledge through art in all its forms, and in a group of young minds, to induce the highest degree of disconnection possible.

Suspended in March in the light of the healthcare emergency, it started again in September in the form of distance learning.

During the course, the 15 participants (selected through an open call) tackled some of the major categories of our lives, talking about Death with the expert thanatologist Dr Marina Sozzi and about Alteration with the philosopher and well-known political activist Franco Berardi (‘Bifo’), Money with Gianpaolo Manca (aka The Doge), Silence with the artist Stefano Favarelli, and Identity with former politician Vladimir Luxuria, invited to meet the group for a workshop behind closed doors. Over the coming months, the group is going to explore other major themes such as money, politics, art and beauty, thanks to the participation of just as many guests.

This edition has come to a conclusion on June 2021 with a final restitution dedicated to the theme of Activism with the American artist Nan Goldin.

The outcome of the OGR YOU 2020 research is available on the Instagram page.

OGR YOU 2019

MOVE IT! Parole, immagini, spazi, ritmi is the theme of the 2019 edition of OGR YOU, curated by Barbara Casavecchia in collaboration with Sergey Kantsedal.

The 15 participants (keen writers, creatives, bloggers, YouTubers, videomakers, Instagrammers, lovers of music, new technologies, visual and the performing arts, etc.) were asked to put themselves to the test, experiment, and narrate in a personal way about themselves and about life inside the OGR, enhancing their critical and expressive abilities.

The YOU Club met with seven visiting professors – Francesco Fonassi, Adam Christensen, Massimo Grimaldi, Elisa Giardina Papa, Luca Garino, Sophie Jung and Diego Marcon – as well as national and international artists and performers invited to meet the OGR YOU students for a workshop held behind closed doors, and the OGR Public Program audience for an event open to the public. The videos of the meetings are available on the YouTube channel of Fondazione Arte CRT.
